When you are starting a new class or planning a term, one question always needs an answer: which materials will you need, in what quantities, and within what budget?
If you run a drawing, painting, sculpture or ceramics studio, Lumino offers a partnership tailored to your teaching programme and purchasing needs. Together, we can select shared studio supplies, put together individual student kits and plan repeat orders.
Tell us what your studio teaches and how many students you have, or send us your existing materials list. We will use this information to discuss suitable products and partnership terms.
Who is this partnership for
The partnership is designed for art and sculpture studios, art schools, children's creative spaces and teachers who run group classes. We can discuss supplies for ongoing teaching, a specific course, a workshop or the launch of a new class.
We take your students' ages, experience and techniques into account. Beginners and students preparing for professional study often need different paper, paints and tools. That is why your teaching programme is our starting point when putting together a materials list.
The benefits of planning your supplies together
Sourcing products separately for different lessons can make it harder to organise orders and keep track of the total cost. An agreed list helps you identify what is essential at the start and what can be added later.
Lumino's range includes paints, brushes, paper, canvases, easels, clay and sculpting tools. Within this range, we can help you select several items from your list together and compare suitable options.
When preparing your offer, we focus on four areas:
-
Matching materials to the learning activities and students' level.
-
Separating individual items from shared studio supplies.
-
Distinguishing the initial purchase from consumables that will need replenishing.
-
Taking quantities, current availability and your budget into account.
Partner pricing and other commercial terms are discussed individually, based on the products ordered, order volume and frequency of purchases. We will agree on the price and delivery terms with you before the order is confirmed.
Additional benefits for partner studios
A partnership with Lumino includes support from order planning through to delivery, as well as help with choosing materials. Your studio will have a dedicated account manager, with priority advice and delivery coordination to reduce the time you spend arranging supplies.
A dedicated account manager for your studio
Your account manager will be your main contact at Lumino. They will be familiar with your teaching specialism, agreed materials list and ordering needs. You can coordinate product selection, quantities, availability and delivery details with one person. When placing a repeat order, you will not need to explain all of your studio's requirements again: you and your manager can review the existing list and make any necessary changes.
Priority advice
We give priority to partner studios' enquiries and order preparation. Your account manager will help you compare materials suited to your techniques, choose options within your budget and determine the quantities needed. If a product is out of stock, we will suggest a possible alternative and agree any changes with you in advance. This makes it easier to choose materials both when starting a new class and during the course.
Priority delivery
We prioritise the preparation of partner studio orders and the coordination of delivery. You can discuss your required delivery date with your manager in advance so that, wherever possible, your order fits around lessons, workshops or the start of a new class. We will agree on a specific delivery timeframe before confirming the order, taking product availability, your studio's location and the courier schedule into account.
New Group Launch Package
When a new class starts, both the studio and each student need materials at the same time. We can put together a New Group Launch Package tailored to your programme and number of participants.
Shared studio supplies. We will prepare a list of products used jointly by the group or teacher during lessons. Depending on the subject, these might include larger paint packs, working surfaces, shared tools and other accessories.
Student Starter Kit. We will separately identify the items each student needs, such as paper or a sketchbook, brushes, pencils and appropriate paints. A consistent list makes it easier for students to prepare for lessons and helps teachers communicate the required materials without having to explain the same details repeatedly.
A clear list for parents. If parents or students purchase materials independently, the agreed list can include product names, quantities and links to the relevant products on our website. We will discuss the most convenient way to share the list with your studio.
A replenishment plan. From the outset, we will identify materials that will be used up during the course. When planning the next order, you will already know which items need checking.
For example, when preparing a watercolour class for 12 students, we would consider 12 individual kits separately from the studio's shared supplies. We will confirm quantities based on lesson frequency, assignments and pack sizes.
Teaching packs for your subject
Each pack is based on what students actually do in class. The options below provide a starting point; the final list will be agreed with the teacher.
Children's art classes
Possible contents include paints suited to the age group and activity, brushes, drawing paper, coloured pencils and accessories for creative projects. We will consider the manufacturer's age recommendations and the teacher's requirements when selecting products.
Academic drawing
Graphite pencils in a range of grades, charcoal, erasers, sketchbooks and drawing paper. The materials should suit the student's level and assignments, whether the focus is studying form, tonal drawing or preparing for an entrance examination.
Watercolour
Watercolour paints, suitable brushes, watercolour paper and a palette. We will consider paper specifications, brush sizes and paint formats so that the kit suits the course techniques and budget.
Acrylic painting
Acrylic paints, brushes, canvas or another suitable surface, a palette and, where needed, painting mediums. For group work, we can also discuss larger packs of frequently used colours.
Oil painting
Oil paints, suitable brushes, canvases, a palette and palette knives. We will discuss the need for mediums and solvents with the teacher, taking the techniques used and the working environment into account.
Sculpture and ceramics
The appropriate type of clay, sculpting tools and other necessary accessories. First, we will establish whether you work with air-dry, polymer or kiln-fired clay and what processing the course involves. Clay intended for firing must be compatible with your studio's kiln and firing conditions.
Mixed media
Paper suitable for mixed media, pencils, markers, paints and collage materials. The pack will include products intended to be used together as part of the teaching programme.
Three pack levels
We can put together the materials list at three different levels to help you compare requirements and budgets.
Essential. The core materials needed to start the course. Suitable for a short programme or a group that initially needs only the basics.
Standard. A broader selection for regular practice, including additional colours, brush sizes, surfaces or accessories, depending on the course content.
Professional. Professional-grade materials and specialist tools selected to suit the techniques taught and the teacher's requirements.
These levels provide a framework for preparing an offer. The exact contents, quantities and price of each pack are determined individually.
Regular supplies and term planning
If your studio buys materials regularly, we can work together to create a repeat-order list and discuss likely requirements for a month or a term.
The number of classes, lesson frequency and materials used in the previous period will help us plan. This information makes it easier to distinguish the initial purchase from subsequent replenishment.
For each repeat order, we will check current prices and stock. If an item is no longer available, we will discuss a possible alternative with you, considering its intended use and specifications.
